INDIA - EMMANUEL HOSTEL
WCCM is in partnership with the Anthem Friends Church of Idaho in supporting the Emmanuel Hostel which was built in 2006 for poor and orphan children. At present, there are 56 children. They are fed, clothed, provided with medical care and education in public schools. Rev. Soumen Naskar is the current Director. Besides attending school, the children also participate in Christian activities as well as sports. Some of them excel in sports and have won a total of 40 prizes this year. Some of the children have become Christians since coming to the Hostel.
TWO ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS:
• Healing Grace Clinic: Dr. D. Mondal is the volunteer doctor who attend the clinic two days a week. She treats an average of 40-60 people per day that includes the Hostel children and local poor people.
• Twilight Club. Local poor elderly people who have no relatives are invited to come. Hostel staff have fellowship with them, pray for their needs as well as provide them with simple tea and snacks.
